Fundacion Noelia

Fundación Noelia, an official Spanish organisation with an international presence, represents and helps people affected by collagen VI-related muscular dystrophy and their families. Led by a scientific committee chaired by Dr Cecilia Jiménez-Mallebrera, it is organising the Collagen VI International Research Summit to promote and share the latest research into collagen VI congenital muscular dystrophy (CMD) among leading research institutions in the field and renowned clinical centres around the world.

The meeting shall be held from 27 to 29 November at the Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute, and will feature 40 international experts in the field of neuromuscular diseases and collagen VI, as well as some of the world’s largest associations and foundations in this area. It will discuss the implications of collagen VI on health and disease management (healthcare, diagnosis and monitoring tools, and outcome measures, among others), and will address a range of models and advanced therapies for COL6-RD congenital muscular dystrophy.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to promote research into advanced therapies in the field of neuromuscular diseases in childhood, and another step towards positioning Gipuzkoa as an international benchmark in research and development in the field of advanced therapies.
